Leão must acquire 50% of the player’s economic rights that belong to Coritiba. The new contract will be valid for four seasons.
Fortaleza and Coritiba are close to agreeing on the deal for defender Kuscevic. Leão do Pici reported to Coxa the purchase of the Chilean defender after the player’s loan last season. The athlete is only waiting for the procedures to sign a contract valid for four seasons. The information comes from the newspaper O Povo.
According to the purchase option clause in the contract, Fortaleza would have to pay $1.5 million (R$9.2 million) for 50% of Kuscevic’s economic rights. The remaining percentage is divided between Palmeiras and Universidad Católica, from Chile.
To have the Chilean defender, at the beginning of 2023, Coritiba paid 1.2 million (close to R$ 6.2 million at the time), in addition to transferring 20% of the economic rights it had from Raphael Veiga to Palmeiras .
In February 2024, Fortaleza signed Kuscevic on loan and the defender quickly gained strength in Juan Pablo Vojvoda’s team, winning a starting place. In total, last season he played 43 games and scored three goals, two of which were in the Brasileirão’s Série A. The defender was a starter on 40 occasions.
