The actress Jamie Lee Curtis announced the donation of 1 million dollars, through the family foundation, to a fund to support communities affected by the forest fires devastating the region of Los Angeles.
In a post on Instagram, Curtis highlighted the gravity of the situation and the tireless work of firefighters and rescue teams.
“As the fires continue to rage, my husband, children and I have decided to pledge $1 million to help our great city, our state and the incredible people who live here,” she wrote.
According to the magazine Varietythe fires, which broke out on the morning of Tuesday 7th, have already consumed more than 15 thousand hectares, approximately 60.7 square kilometers, in the Pacific Palisades and Malibu region, destroying hundreds of properties and forcing mass evacuations.
