Boyle, however, warned that the closing chapter of the trilogy — still without a confirmed title or release date — should only come to fruition depending on the public’s reaction to it. Extermination: The Evolutionscheduled to debut in June.
What is the story of Extermination: The Evolution?
A synopsis of Extermination: The Evolution has not yet been released, but the first preview of the film shows the characters of Jodie Comer (Free Guy: Taking Control), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train), Ralph Fiennes (The Amazing Story of Henry Sugar) and Jack O’Connell (Back to Black) dealing with zombies in a world that has been threatened by zombies for 28 years.
The trailer even appears to reveal the character’s fate. Cillian Murphy, Jimwho in the first film woke up from a coma and discovered that a highly contagious virus, capable of bringing the dead back to life, had caused a social collapse. In one of the preview scenes, it is possible to see a zombie with physical characteristics similar to those of Jimwhich would indicate that he would not have survived the apocalypse.
When does it debut Extermination: The Evolution?
With script Alex Garland (Civil War) and direction of Danny Boyle (Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?), Extermination: The Evolution is a direct continuation of Extermination and completely ignores the story of the first sequel, Extermination 2released in 2007, which no longer had any connections with the first film.
The film is scheduled to hit North American theaters on June 20, 2025 and, here, Extermination: The Evolutionshould be released a little earlier, on June 19, 2025but there is nothing confirmed so far. Watch the trailer for the new film:
