Cruz-Maltino is 1-1 with Nacional-SP and advances with just three points; in the second phase they will face Juventus-SP
Even without winning, Vasco managed to qualify for the second phase of Copinha 2025. This Friday (10), Cruz-Maltino drew 1-1 with Nacional-SP at the Nicolau Alayon stadium, in Barra Funda, and finished second in Group 32. Three draws for the Cariocas, who advance with three points.
XV de Piracicaba, with seven points, advanced first. Piracicaba’s team beat Canaã-DF 2-1, also this Friday, and took the lead. Now Vasco will face Ceará or Juventus-SP, in a match with no date yet confirmed.
Giant from Colina at the beginning creates good opportunities. First with Wanyson, with a strong header for Ryan’s defense. Then, Léo Jacó stepped in front of the goal and, from the left, launched a shot for Ryan to intervene again. Both plays featured key passes from Lukas Zuccarello, the team’s number 10.
The first goal came in the 43rd minute, from a penalty. Juninho was thrown deep, shot at speed and was brought down by goalkeeper Ryan. Ramon Rique took the penalty and sent it into the corner, with no chance of defending, to open the scoring.
The equalizer came in the 19th minute of the additional phase. Paulo Victor, from far away, shoots with great effect from the right. Phillipe Gabriel also extends himself, but does not prevent Nacional’s great goal. The home team needed the victory to advance and therefore went on the attack with the fans shouting “I believe”. Cruz-Maltino, however, managed to maintain the result, which puts them ahead in the competition.
