Ninho’s sons organized the transfer to Los Angeles FC and Rubro-Negro pocketed another 2 million euros
After a semester in Europe, Igor Jesus leaves Estrela da Amadora, Portugal. The Portuguese club has agreed to sell the 21-year-old midfielder this Monday to Los Angeles FC, coming from MLS (13). The US team will pay 4 million euros (around R$ 25 million at current prices) for the athlete. Owner of 50% of the economic rights, Flamengo will be entitled to half of the value. Igor Jesus was sold to Estrela da Amadora in August last year for 2 million euros (around R$12.5 million). With the new transfer, therefore, Flamengo reaches 4 million euros in profit with the player, the value of the transfer to MLS. For Rubro-Negro, the sons of Ninho played 32 games with two assists as a professional.
The midfielder had a contract with the Portuguese club until June 2028. However, the youngster attracted the attention of the US first division. Los Angeles FC has French stars Giroud and Lloris in its squad, as well as Brazilian defender Marlon, formerly of Fluminense. Last season, the MLS team had the best season in the Western Conference, but fell in the semifinals after losing 2-1 to the Seattle Sounders in overtime.
