The Red Devils lose until the 37th minute of the final phase against Southampton at Old Trafford, but Diallo pulls the rabbit out of the hat with three goals
With three goals to go, Manchester United have shaken off a historic Premier League stumble. After all, this Thursday (16th), coach Ruben Amorim’s team overcame bottom club Southampton and won 3-1, with a hat-trick from Diallo in the last stretch of the duel, at Old Trafford, valid for the 21st round .

He was lucky and, in the end, he found himself face to face with the goalkeeper to leave everything level, already in the 37th minute. In the 45th minute, at the start of injury time, Diallo himself plays on the right and plays the ball with Eriksen, receiving the ball in excellent condition to take the first shot and turn the game around, to the relief of the United fans. There would still be time for Diallo’s hat-trick, at 45+4′. It was a great gift received from defender Bree, who incorrectly dominated inside the penalty area, with the Ivorian scoring into an empty net.
Next steps
Manchester United move up to 12th place, moving away from the relegation zone in the English Championship. There are 26 points for Ruben Amorim’s team, who still have two games left at home. On Sunday (19th) they will host Brighton, in the Premier League, while on the 23rd they will face Rangers, in the Europa League, again at the Teatro dos Sonhos.
Southampton remain bottom, with just six points and an incredible difference of -34. However, the team will now face third-placed Nottingham Forest away from home, also on Sunday.
