Synopsis of previous seasons

The plot follows 456 indebted contestants who participate in children’s games with deadly consequences, competing for a prize of 45.6 billion won. The protagonist, Seong Gi-hun (player 456), is a man in debt to a daughter and a sick mother.

Gi-hun, driven by the desire for revenge, seeks justice for the victims of previous games. He uses the money he earns to infiltrate and reach the game’s organizers, hiring a loan shark and his team to investigate people connected to the game.
At the same time, new characters and conflicts emerge, including one of the game’s guards who rebels against the plan to traffic organs for the games’ victims.
What to expect from season three
The creator of the series, Hwang Dong-hyuk, revealed that the third season will be the conclusion of the saga of Gi-hun and Front Man, promising a final clash between the two characters.

At the same time, the loan shark hired by Gi-hun and his team are already close to arriving on the island where the games take place. Furthermore, the rebel guard’s story arc promises to play a crucial role in the story’s developments.

To reduce fans’ anticipation, the second and third seasons were produced simultaneously, with the third season’s episodes already in post-production. This way, the third season should take less time to be available on Netflix.
