Cameron Diaz is one of the most successful actresses of her generation. With a filmography that includes hits such as Charlie’s Angels (2000), Love Doesn’t Take a Vacation (2006) and, more recently, Back in Action (2025) starring alongside Jamie Foxx for the Netflix.
One of the actress’s biggest hits, however, is the comedy classic The Mask (1994), in which she stars opposite Jim Carrey. The actress, who has just resumed her career after a decade away from the cameras, spoke to Access Hollywood Would you be willing to return to act in a sequel to the feature film?
“If Jim is on board, I mean, I’ve been taking advantage of this opportunity since day one,” she said of a possible sequel. In the film, directed by Chuck Russell, Diaz interprets Tina Carlyle. Last month, during an interview with the ComicBook.com she talked about being willing to wear the famous mask if presented with the “right idea.”
“If someone had the right idea, I guess… It’s not really about money. I joke about money… But I never know. You can’t be sure about these things. I said I would like to retire, but I think I was talking more about rest of power. Because as soon as a good idea comes your way, or a group of people that you really enjoyed working with and things like that, just — things tend to change.”
And Charlie’s Angels?
There is no way to talk about his career. Diaz without remembering the trio formed by her alongside Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore in Charlie’s Angels. In another conversation with the Accessthe actress was excited about the idea of bringing together the most famous spies in cinema.
“It would be incredible. It would be really incredible,” he said. Diazbefore Foxx add that he would be happy to “throw my hat in the ring” to play Bosley in a new film in the franchise — the role was originally played by Bill Murraywho was recently accused of inappropriate behavior by Liu.
“I’ll text her. [Liu] right now and suggest Jamie as Bosley,” he said Diaz on occasion.
