Netflix: The Sandman Nightmare Trailer

In conjunction with Comic Con, Netflix has finally released the first full trailer for Sandman based on the Neil Gaiman comics and starring Tom Sturridge. This fantasy drama is about the other world that awaits us all when we close our eyes and go to sleep – a place called dreams, where the Lord of Dreams (Tom Sturridge) shapes all our deepest fears and fantasies.

But when he is captured and imprisoned for a century, his absence sets off a series of events that will change the dream and waking worlds forever. To restore order, Siz, also known as Morpheus, must travel through different universes and timelines to undo the mistakes he made in his vast existence, visiting old friends and enemies and meeting new creatures – cosmic and human – along the way.

During the panel, Neil Gaiman explained how he was able to convince comic book cover artist Dave McKinney to come out of retirement to work on the Netflix series. The Sandman will be available starting August 5 on Netflix.
