TF1 took advantage of this sunny weekend to release the first trailer for Les Combattantes, its new event mini-series. Three years after the success of Bazar de la Charité, producer Iris Bucher (Quad Drama) has once again teamed up with director Alexandre Laurent to present an 8-episode historical mural that follows the fate of four women during the First World War. .

For the occasion, audiences will be able to find Audrey Fleuro, Julie de Bona and Camille Lou, the stars of Bazar de la Charité, joined by actress and singer Sofia Esaide.

With the school year expected to start on TF1, Les Combattantes takes us to September 1914 in a small village in eastern France, just a few kilometers from the German zone. Marguerite (Audrey Fleuro) is a mysterious and funny Parisian prostitute suspected of espionage.

Caroline (Sofia Esaid), the wife of Victor Devitt, the owner of a car factory, who has gone to the front, finds herself at the helm of the family business, a colossal and unprecedented challenge for a woman at the turn of the century. Agnes (Julie de Bona) is the superior of a requisitioned convent and a converted mother in a military hospital.

Overwhelmed by the influx of wounded, he suffers more and questions his life choices. Finally, Suzanne (Camille Lou) is a young feminist nurse on the run after an abortion gone wrong.

The male cast will include Laurent Guerra, Tom Libby (Infidèles, Plan B), Yannick Coirat (Laëtitia), Grégoire Collin, Mikael Mittelstadt (Here It All Begins) and Maxence Dunnet-Fauvel (SKAM France, Grand Hôtel).

When it aired in November 2019, Le Bazar de la Charité broke all records and averaged 7.84 million viewers. Figures that allowed the co-produced mini-series with Netflix to be the most-watched series on TF1 that year. A success the channel hopes to replicate with Les Combattantes.
