Situation generated additional embarrassment to the artist in question by unforeseen element: a tattoo in an unexpected region for the actress
Meryl Streep It is a true institution of world cinema. Most prestigious actress, the Americana received impressive 21 Oscar nominations, winning the top prize of cinema on three occasions. There are several prominent works: The devil wears a Prada (2006), Sofia’s choice (1982), The bridges of Madison (1995), The House of Spirits (1993), Mamma mia (2008), The Iron Lady (2011), Series misadventures (2004) and so on.
Streep is even one of the greatest references of Leonardo DiCaprio. In an interview of 2010 to Dwellthe star of Titanic (1997), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) and several other titles highlights it with Jack Nicholson as their greatest heroes in the artistic segment.
Perhaps that is why it has felt a huge blockade by having to look at the naked actress. Happened in the recordings of Don’t look up (2021), film directed by Adam McKay for Netflix. In addition to the duo, the cast brought names like Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett, Rob Morgan, Jonah Hill, Ariana Grande, Matthew Perrybetween others.

At a given moment of the movie, all appear naked. Meryl Streep’s character appears on his back, with a tattoo in the lower back and just above the buttocks – popularly called by the name considered chauvinist “Tramp Stamp” – in what should be a joke. Not to Leonardo DiCaprio, who refused to look at his maximum cinema reference in that way.
The curiosity was shared by Adam McKay in an interview with The Guardian (via Far Out). According to the director, the actor’s biggest problem with the situation was having to visualize his colleague with a tattoo seen as a derogatory – as the so -called “Tramp Stamps” used to be made only by prostitutes and strippers until the 1990s.
“You know who had a problem with that [a nudez com a tatuagem ‘tramp stamp’]? Leo. Leo sees Meryl as a royalty of cinema. Perhaps ‘royalty’ is not a compliment, so he sees her as such a special figure in the history of cinema. He didn’t like to see her with the tattoo on the lower back, walking naked for that moment. ”
The aversion of DiCaprio at the moment was such that not even the fact that Streep used a body stuntman for the scene relieved the situation. McKay recalls:
“He [Leo] Tell me something like, ‘Do you really need to show it?’ And I said: ‘This is not Meryl Streep, it is President Orlean [personagem da atriz no filme]’. ”
In turn, Meryl didn’t even call the situation. Adam states that the legendary actress was not afraid to portray her character that way.

Don’t look up
Don’t look up It brings Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio as two low -ranking astronomers trying, through a series of statements to the media, to alert humanity over an asteroid that will destroy the earth. However, no one cares. The impact event is an allegory to climate change, while the film satirizes the indifference of government and the media regarding the climate crisis.
The reception of the work was positive, to the point of becoming, in early 2022, the third most watched film in Netflix history. Received four nominations to Golden Globe (Best Movie – Comedy or Musical, Best Actor For DiCaprio, Best Actress for Lawrence and Best Screenplay) and six Critics Choice Awards (including better movie), although it has not won any of the awards.
