The actor is in town shooting the new Guy Ritchie movie.
The Patriot has gone to court in Alicante, after having slept one night in a dungeon of the Alicante National Police. Actor Anthony Starr was arrested yesterday after getting into a fight in a crowded bar on Castaños Streetwell into the morning. Starr would have started a fight with a pub customer, whom he hit with a glass that left his eyebrow open and with four stitches.
After two o’clock in the morning from Tuesday to Wednesday, the National Police arrived at the establishment where, according to witnesses, the New Zealand actor had just punched a 21-year-old in the face, before opening his eyebrow with a glass. The agents arrested the actor, before take him to the cell of the Provincial Police Station, so that this morning he would finally be brought to justice.
The young man who was assaulted was accompanied by a friend and needed four stitches, a determining factor for Starr’s arrest. We still have no news of the judge’s sentence.
Anthony Starr, a “patriot” filming in Alicante
Filming of the new movie Guy Ritchie (‘Despierta la furia’, ‘The Gentlemen: Los señores de la mafia’), a project still without a title (in IMDb appears “The Interpreter”) that began filming in Spain at the beginning of February. Alicante is Afghanistan for the filmmaker, who has transformed the landscapes of Sax, Petrer and Novelda into an inhospitable desert.
Starr is part of a cast headed by Jake Gyllenhaalco-star with Dar Salim (‘War of Lies’), a local interpreter working for the US Army who risks his life to save that of Gyllenhaal, an American sergeant.

Gyllenhaal is John Kinley, a sergeant on his last tour of duty in Afghanistan before retiring. During his service he must team up with Ahmed (Salim), an interpreter who will help him and his team investigate a troublesome region. Of course it’s going to be a trap, an ambush in which everyone in the platoon will die, except Kinley and Ahmed. With the enemies at his back, Ahmed will risk his life to carry the wounded sergeant to safety. It will be an arduous journey through nowhere.
Back home, and already safe, Kinley will find out that the interpreter and his family never got a ticket to enter the US, as promised. Determined to protect his friend and pay off his debt, Kinley will return to the war zone to rescue Ahmed and his family before local militias catch up with them..
complete the cast Alexander Ludwig (‘The Hunger Games’), Jason Wong (‘The Gentlemen’), bobby schofield (‘Don’t Breathe 2’), Sean Sagar (‘The Gentlemen’) and Emily Beecham (‘cruella’). Today the Spanish justice will decide if El Patriota can roll again with his companions.
