When asked about the possibility of seeing Ryan Gosling play Ghost Rider in the cinema, Kevin Feige said that he would love to find a place for him in the MCU.
Ryan Gosling revealed on July 13 MTV News that he wanted to embody the character of a ghost rider in the cinema. So the media took advantage of Comic-Con to ask Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, what he thought. And, of course, the head of the House of Ideas is on board.
The latter said at Josh Horowitz’s microphone that he would love to find Ryan Gosling’s place in the MCU, without naming Ghost Rider…
Ryan is amazing. I would love to find a place for him in the MCU. Dressed as Kenny on Venice Beach, he’s getting more press than this weekend’s blockbusters! It’s great.
However, Marvel’s Phases 4 and 5 have not announced a Demon Biker movie. But the new project has seen the light of day as Kevin Feige recently said that the MCU will be a bit more favorable for Ghost Rider after the next supernatural film Blade, which is played by Mahershala Ali.
Ghost Rider has appeared on screen several times, in Ghost Rider (2007) and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2012) with Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes, and in Season 4 of SHIELD as Gabriel Luna. Each of the two actors played a different version of the character, as the former was Johnny Blaze and the latter was Ronnie Reyes.
Previous rumors of Ryan Gosling being cast as the MCU superhero Nova were recently denied by the actor, though he hinted that he has already been offered superhero roles.
When a journalist MTV Asked how many comic book character roles he’s played, Gosling replied:Does not matter. I am not made for this. But I would love to do it“.
