Heartache piles up for Roman Vidal (Simon Erlacher). Early in the summer, a young doctor in love after being shipwrecked on the desert island of Fanny (Prudence LeRoy) makes conquests of a neighbor, first going out with Sylvia before checking on Emily.
Faced with this catastrophic experience, he reconnected with his ex-wife, who offered to return to live with her in Paris. But while leaving Marseille, he read a letter written by a fan in which he revealed that he had feelings for her.
Roman then decided to stay in Marseille in the hope that their love story would finally see the light of day. Unfortunately, the young man did not know that this letter was not actually written by Fanny, but by Sylvia, who decided to play matchmaker.
If fans of A Beautiful Life continue to hope to one day see a Fanny-Romain pairing form, they will be sorely disappointed. Last June, Simon Erlacher, who plays Dr. Vidal, did indeed confide in Allocine’s microphone that his character would soon find love … but it wouldn’t be in the arms of a fan.
In this Tuesday night’s episode, a young man receives a postcard from a waiter telling him that he will not be returning to Marseilles. A fan actually goes to work on a liner to go around the world.
If this somewhat unexpected ending may surprise more than one person, it has to do with Prudence Leroy’s personal life. The actress had to distance herself from Plus belle la vie because she was pregnant. A pregnancy that the writers decided not to include in the series, probably because it wouldn’t really make sense in the character’s ongoing storylines.
However, it is not out of the question that the young woman, who gave birth to her second child last May, will return for the end of the series, even if nothing is confirmed at the moment. However, one thing is clear: the relationship between her character and Romain Vidal will not see the light of day.
But the young man should not end the adventure of a more beautiful single life. The writers have planned a new love interest for the Doctor… and she should be arriving in the next series.
Indeed, Romain meets a mysterious young woman named Vanessa who breaks his heart. Played by Marguerite Dabrin, who we got to see specifically in the research section, this new character will get a great payoff in tomorrow night’s episode.
