Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man 3 is largely responsible for starting Marvel’s Phase 5 in theaters
One of the first films Phase 5 of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniathe hero’s third solo film played by Paul Ruddis apparently going to be a game-changer for the franchise, because it will change the Marvel “permanently,” according to director Peyton Reed.
While he didn’t give in-depth details for the film, reed told the Access during the San Diego Comic-Con 2022 as they are very excited about the launch of this production of MCU.
“Start to Phase 5 it’s really exciting for us, because we’re the movies of the Ant Man. It’s our third film. It’s this trilogy now. But things happen in this movie that will change the Marvel Cinematic Universe permanently,” said the filmmaker in the conversation. “And it’s fun for us that Scott Lang be at the center of this change.”
In addition to Rudd in the role of Scott Langthe list of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania also has Evangeline Lilly (Hope van Dyne/Wasp), Michelle Pfeiffer (Janet van Dyne), Bill Murray, Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), Kathryn Newton (Cassie Lang), Jonathan Majors (Kang the Conqueror), between others.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023) will not feature an actor from the original cast. David Dastmalchian revealed that he will not be resuming the role of Kurt following the Marvel. (Via geek website)
In an interview with Screen Rant, Dastmalchian talked about how Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) will not have the company of Kurtfaithful friend who helped him in the adventures of the first two films along with Luís (Michael Pena)
“I won’t go back…but that’s okay. I know they are doing something amazing. I can’t wait to see what peyton [diretor] will do next. He’s one of my favorite directors… He’s been so busy. I tried to keep in touch, but he’s making an amazing movie right now.”
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)
Third movie in the hero franchise, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania must follow the adventures of Hope Pym (Evangeline Lilly) and Scott Lang (Rudd) in the mysterious quantum realm.
Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and the daughter of Scott, Cassie (Kathyrn Newton), will also help the heroes fight the MCU’s biggest threat since Thanos, Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors). Ant-Man 3 is scheduled to debut in 2023.
