The film received a lot of attention during its presentation at Cannes. It was awarded the Jury’s Favorite Prize in the Un Certain Regard selection. Then, at the Champs-Élysées Film Festival held in Paris last June, he won the Jury Prize for Best French Director and the Critics Prize for Best French Feature Film.
Rodeo sparked a lot of conversation last May over an interview that was misinterpreted and taken out of context. He shared his feelings and experiences with the community of bikers that he has been meeting since 2015 and who are doing stunts on the streets at full speed on motorized two-wheelers or quads.
Lola Quivoron addressed this issue in the columns of Le Parisien: “MHis remarks were caricatured, over-interpreted, extrapolated from articles and TV shows by journalists who themselves had not seen my film.He explains and regrets the editing of this interview, which he considers.Chopped, chopped and recomposed“.
