Box Office France: Thor 4 continues its run as the leader, Elvis the Millionaire

Thor Love and ThunderReleased on July 13, it continues its strong momentum, pulling in more than 500,000 viewers this week, or 1.72 million total admissions. If Thor 4 does well in the top spot, it still loses 50% of its viewers in a week.

Minions 2 Demonstrates excellent stability: only -20% drop. The animated film from Illumination Studios has surpassed 2.5 million views this week. To remind you, The Minions 1 ended its career with 6.58 million admissions, which is the second highest score of 2015, after Star Wars Episode 7.

Very good stability as well Top Gun Maverick (-7%, and 195,772 more admissions) and two French comedies: President of Dukobu and a liar, No. 3 and No. 5 respectively this week, lost just 14% and 21% of their audience. Dukobu President! There are 550,000 entries in total, with Liar approaching 450,000 (433,501 entries).

Shy start for this Happy retirement 2Which can’t match the good start of its first installment: 477,116 for Opus 1 at the end of the first week of November 2019, against 155,491 for this sequel shot in Portugal.

Elvis crosses the million mark

There are a few new ones in the top 10 this week. Apart from Joyeuse Retraite 2, only As Bestas is in position 9, with a score very close to another thriller La Nuit du 12, which is close to the top 10 (11). It’s a cold shower for Pierre Savador’s La Petite Bande (only 43,260 admissions in one week).

In a sequel, Elvis is a millionaire as of this weekend! It shows a total of 1,015,574 receptions since its release on June 22.
