The Federal Government has understood that there is damage to the national industry for the import of cold steel, but it has still decided not to implement an anti -dumping measure that had been claimed for months by the national team producers, the CSN commercial director Luís Fernando Martinez said on Thursday.
“It’s bad news because it is a signal for other products,” said the executive, during a conference with CSN analysts to comment on the result of the fourth quarter of last year, released on the night of the day before.
“Despite the entire corporate defense scenario, with causal connections and proven damage … I cannot understand how to implement a temporary antihyduming,” said the manager, who even mentioned any interest of other sectors of the economy against a measure that can be sorry in China, the largest origin of the imported steel that arrives in Brazil.
According to Martinez, there is also the anti-dumping agenda understood by the steel industry with the government proceedings involving pre-platform steel, Galvalumi and hot hill, something that should be the goal of decisions in the next three months.
