The president of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, dissolved the parliament of the town on Thursday 13, after a reliable scandal against the current premier Luís Montenegro.

The new elections – the third in less than three years – will take place on May 18th. Until then, Rebelo’s team is actively assumed the functions of Parliament.
The decision was foreseen for the signs that Montenegro would have closed contracts with private companies to his advantage as prime minister.
Montenegro has denied any conflict of interest or ethical failures. Public ministries are studying some accusations, but there are no active investigations in progress.
The surveys of last week show that the socialists, the main opposition party, have a slight advantage compared to the Montenegro alliance, but most show them linked to about 30%, which would mean few changes compared to last year’s elections.
The third is the far -right party comes! which can increase the number of representatives in Parliament.
Despite the political turbulence of the last four years, Portugal has presented more economic growth than most EU countries, recording budget surplus and reducing their debt under the governments of the center-right and center-left and economists see few immediate risks for their performance with a new election.
