Top Gun: Maverick’s Miles Teller, Glen Powell and more open up what it was like to wait 2 years before it hit theaters

With almost any measure, Top Gun: Maverick it is a great success. The summer blockbuster has already passed 1.25 billion dollars at the box office and the public and critics agree upper barrel 2. However, it was a long way to get here, and best gun Stars like Miles Teller and Glenn Powell, as well as director Joseph Kosinski, shared their thoughts on the long wait for Tom Cruise’s lead character to hit theaters.

Speaking at CinemaCon earlier this year, Joseph Kosinski shared during a panel that it was all “surreal”. At the time, he had just seen the film in a first screening in front of a room of spectators and exhibitors and then he shared what that experience was like:

it’s surreal As I said, it’s been two years since we finished this movie. I wish everyone who worked on the film could be here to see it with an audience because it was a really special experience to live it, completed, with 3,000 people. It was truly unique.

Many people associated with the film have questioned the wait, and Miles Teller is no exception. After starting work on the first print jobs for Top Gun: Maverick in early 2020, the release of all films was halted. And even though she had seen the movie at the time and talked about it best gun the sequel’s “emotional reward,” he and the rest of the cast were forced to wait for many more covid-related delays before the film finally hit theaters as part of the 2022 release schedule.

Now he’s back on the press circuit, and he said Late night with Seth Meyers which honestly was a bit of a hassle to wait, even though I didn’t have some of the other cast’s concerns.

I had done a lot of films before, so I didn’t feel I needed this film to secure a future job. But for some actors, you know, it was a great showcase for them. And I think, if anything, he was let down by the fans. Because the fans we found are crazy. They are so hungry and they are waiting … I couldn’t wait for them to see it because, as you have seen, the movies have been a spaceship.

These other folks include a host of newcomers like Glen Powell, Danny Ramirez, and Greg Tarzan Davis, among other names. While Powell played John Glenn hidden numbers, Top Gun: Maverick It was a project in a completely different stratosphere for the actor. This is basically what Miles Teller mentioned in his comments, but Powell also provided the unique perspective of him during the panel at CinemaCon.

I mean, yeah, it’s a bit of a hassle when you have to wait for your run to start. It’s a big secret, this amazing thing that you can’t show anyone. But it’s a really good feeling to know you’re sitting on a winner, you know, to know you’re working with the best directors.

Luckily, it looks like Powell – and hopefully some of those other newcomers – really kept the attitude right as they waited for Paramount to break free. Dissident in the world. Once the studio did that, the film was unstoppable, not just at the national box office, but around the world. Of course, this has led to the question of whether or not there might be a third party best gun film, and has already been discussed.

For now you can take Dissident in theaters, or the 1986 original best gun transmission.
