Day 05 – Thirteen lives – The rescue [filme] – Long awaited drama, Thirteen Lives – The Rescue is a film full of stars in the cast, such as Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell and Joel Edgerton.
The film, based on a true story that took place in 2018, follows the tragedy experienced by a coach and the 12 boys of his football team, when they were trapped in a cave in Thailand. For more than two weeks, teams of professional divers and volunteers struggled to save their lives after a storm prevented them from leaving the site.
With an emotional story that moved the world at the time, the film opens with very high expectations, especially with the presence of Ron Howard, award-winning director of the sector.
Day 12 – A very special team [série] – Amazon Studios series, A very special team is based on the classic 1992 comedy starring Geena Davis, Tom Hanks and Madonna.
Consisting of an 8-episode first season, the series tells the story of the Rockford Peaches’ first professional women’s baseball team. And, more than a gift for fans of the film, it has everything to please the younger generation, as it has been updated with important issues, incorporating the untold stories of black and queer women from the 1950s.
Day 15 – Young Witches – New Sisterhood – Who remembers? young witches, a 1996 movie that was a teen hit at the time? Like so many other works from the 90s that have recently won remakes or reboots, the title received a sequel in 2020, Young Witches – New Sisterhoodnow available on Amazon Prime Video.
In the plot, much like the original film, a girl who has just moved to another city and entered a new high school approaches three teenage witches, looking for another young woman to close their quartet. Everything goes out of control, however, when together they realize that their powers are even greater than they imagined, and so too are its consequences.
Produced by Blumhouse, already famous enough for its horror and suspense films, the feature is directed by Zoe Lister-Jones and stars Cailee Spaeny.
Day 26 – Samaritan [filme] – Action movies starring Sylvester Stallone aren’t all that new. Unless, of course, he has the skin of a retired superhero, as happens SamaritanOriginal Amazon Prime Video movie.
In the plot, which takes place in a reality where the world is buried in violence, a young boy begins to suspect that his neighbor is a famous superhero presumed dead more than twenty years ago. Fascinated by the discovery, he tries to convince the man, who has become a lonely street sweeper, that he needs to get back on the road and save the city.
With a trailer fulfilling its role of arousing the audience’s curiosity, the film appears to go far beyond just action elements, mixing drama and fantasy with narrative in an interesting way. Its premiere, which will take place on the 26th, is worth keeping an eye on.
