Cinema in the military dictatorship, Onda Nova is relaunched in theaters

Censured during the military dictatorship and banned shortly after its first exhibition in 1983, Wave Back to theaters from this Thursday, March 27, restored and remastered in 4K thanks to a thorough job of recovery conducted by experts and supported by Brazilian cinematic.

What is the story of Wave?

Defined as a “erotic and anarchic comedy”, Wave Gathers stories from Gayvotas Futebol Clube players, a women’s soccer team formed in the middle of military dictatorship, the same year that the sport was regulated in Brazil after being banned for 40 years.

With the support of renowned players of the time as Casagrande, Pitta and Wladimirthey face the prejudices of a conservative society. At the same time, they deal with their personal and family problems, and prepare for a symbolic international game against the Italian team. Watch the trailer:
