“Aquaman 2” will feature Ben Affleck’s Batman

Ben Affleck is back as Batman in the sequel to the King of Atlantis story “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom”.

The announcement was made by Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa, who posted selfies with Ben Affleck on his Instagram account. “Together. Bruce to Arthur,” says the actor in the caption of the post, referring to the characters of the two, Bruce Wayne and Arthur Curry. “I love you and miss you Ben. Spotted on the set of all the great things to come in Aquaman 2.

In addition to two side-by-side selfies, the post includes a video of a Warner Bros. tour, in which attendees apparently discover Ben Affleck’s involvement in “Aquaman 2”. “Well, it’s not a goddamn secret anymore!” Momoa jokes in the video, before showing Affleck in his trailer on set.

Affleck played the Dark Knight in several films set in the DC Extended Universe, including “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”, “Justice League” and “Suicide Squad”, and announced his retirement from the role in 2019. Ben Affleck’s Batman is back in “The Flash”, due out in 2023, and now apparently it will be in the Aquaman sequel.

The role of Batman has recently been played by several actors. After Affleck, Robert Pattinson donned the Batman costume in “Batman,” the hero’s solo film that will win a sequel with the actor in the role. In addition to Affleck, Michael Keaton will return to being Batman in “The Flash” and also in the Batgirl movie.

“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” will debut in Brazilian theaters on March 17, 2023.
