The earthquake has still left 5,000 injured and more than 200 missing

According to a United Nations report (UN), over 3 million of the 54 million inhabitants of the country were in some way affected by the earthquake, aggravating the devastation left by four years of civil war, which began after the military coup of February 2021.

In the middle of this scenario, the European Union manager announced a transfer of another 10 million euros on Monday (R $ 63.85 million) in humanitarian aid to Myanmar, money that will be used to provide emergency shelters, medical assistance, drinking water and toilet, as well as research and family reunification.

With this, the amount disbursed by Brussels to help the Asian country after the earthquake went up to 13 million euros (R $ 83 million). A team of 12 European experts and two officers are also in Myanmar to coordinate humanitarian actions with local partners. .
