The Silence of the Waters on France 3: What to Expect in Season 2

After almost two years of waiting, the Italian detective series Le Silence de l’eau finally returns to France 3 for a second season this Sunday, July 31, from 21:10. This summer saga-accented thriller by Jean Ludwig and Leonardo Valenti, airing in France in August 2020, follows the investigation by Commissioners Andrea Baldini (Giorgio Passotti) and Luisa Ferrari (Ambra Anjolini) as they try to solve the mystery. Around the death of 16-year-old Laura.

Given the great success of the first season of Silence de l’eau in Italy, Canale 5 very quickly announced the renewal of the series for a second season. And like the TV series Broadchurch, The Killing, or Tunnel, the main actors, Ambra Anjolini and Giorgio Passotti will return and investigate a completely new investigation.

Director Pierre Bellon is still behind the camera, and other recurring characters from the first season will appear again, namely Roberta (Camilla Philippe), Andrea’s wife.

The new batch of eight episodes, broadcast two evenings on France 3, sees two investigators return to work a year after the Laura Mancini case to investigate a new mystery.

Andrea Baldini prepares to leave the city police station to go to work in Trieste with Luisa Ferrari. When the latter stumbles upon a little girl in the middle of the road in the middle of the night, he and Andrea find themselves faced with a double murder to solve: that of Sara Liverani (Margherita Laterza) and her teenage son, Luca (Pietro Belloni).

Suspicion immediately falls on Rocco (Julio Corso), Sara’s ex-husband, who lost custody of the children after their separation. Although he has an alibi at the time, Andrea and Luisa see him as the perfect culprit. Meanwhile, Andrea finds her family life complicated by the unexpected return of Mateo’s biological father (Ricardo Maria Manera).
