More than 40 years after its creation, the Rocky franchising continues to progress, thanks largely to the I believe movie. And just last week it was reported that the Dragon the spin-off goes on , thanks to an important contract. However, the man who started the franchise, Sylvester Stallone, isn’t very happy. Stallone recently posted a boring message on not owning the boxing franchise. And after this latest offshoot was in the works, the 75-year-old actor shared some not-so-kind words for the show’s current producers.
Sylvester Stallone has had particular issues with veteran producer Irwin Winkler and his son, David, who currently runs the franchise. In his recent post, Stallone claimed that the two didn’t actually add anything substantial to the long line of films. Oscar nominee says late producer Robert Chartoff was the most defining person behind the scenes. The star even went so far as to call David Winkler an “extraordinarily untalented and parasitic” producer, which is why more Rocky no follow-up was carried out.
The Hollywood veteran doubled down on those feelings in another message sent to his own instagram . He claimed that the producers were once again making a production that had not received his input from him. He also addressed fans directly by citing the actor who gave birth to Ivan Drago:
Another heartthrob … I just found out … ONCE AGAIN this PATHETIC 94 YEAR OLD MANUFACTURER and HIS USELESS VULTURE CHILDREN, Charles and David, are once again cleaning THE BONES of another wonderful character I created without even telling me. .. I SORRY FAN, I never wanted the ROCKY characters to be exploited by these parasites … Also, I have nothing but respect for my real friend, Dolph Lundgren.
Dolph Lundgren talked about a possible spin-off last year, saying he understood that such a thing was in development. (And he obviously agreed.) The new project would be written by Robert Lawton, who impressed MGM with his work on the script of the specs for becomes rocky (which focused on making the original 1976 film). Plot details are hidden right now, but the film will reportedly focus on Ivan. Draco, who received a kind of arc of redemption in 2018 I believe II.
Speaking of the Michael B. Jordan-led franchise, the upcoming third episode has already been shot and is currently in post-production. However, I believe III hit a backhand recently, as it was postponed from November 2022 to March 2023. No details about the story have been revealed, but what is known is that the film will feature a new sparring partner for Adonis. The character will be played by Jonathan Majors, who spoke of being impressed on the face for the card.
It appears that Sylvester Stallone will continue to do his shots as the Rocky The franchise’s production team continues to grow. Stallone won’t be back for I believe III And, if things continue like this, it’s hard to say if he will ever reprise the role of the famous boxer who grew up in Philadelphia.
