Pat Carroll, Ursula of The Little Mermaid died at 95

For Millennials, there are few animated villains considered more iconic than Ursula, the sea witch from Walt Disney Animation’s classic 1989 film. The little Mermaid. Thirty-three years after that memorable performance, the actor who brought the character to life is dead. Pat Carroll, who also won Emmy and Grammy Awards, passed away this weekend at the age of 95.

The news of Carroll’s death was reported by Term, who says he died at his home in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He turned 95 last May and, according to the exchange, outlived his family, including his daughters Kerry Karsian and Tara Karsian, and granddaughter Evan Karsian-McCormick.

Pat Carroll has worked primarily on vocals for the past 20 years, but has also continued to make films and live on television. In 2005 he directed three episodes of emergencies when medical drama was in its 11th season and in 2007 had a supporting role alongside Emma Roberts in Nancy Drew.
