The offer provides for investments of over 2 million dollars in wood, squares and areas of conservation of state capital
The city of Porto Alegre is about to receive a new environmental drive with the plantation of up to 3,500 seedlings in its public spaces. The initiative is part of an open offer process until 8 May, aimed at assuming a company specialized in urban resistance. With an estimated value of 2.3 million R $, the contract will have an initial duration of one year and could be extended and provides for the performance of three technical teams in the execution and monitoring of the activities.
Total seedlings, 2 thousand will be intended for squares and public roads, while another 1,500 will be planted in permanent conservation areas (app), released in various neighborhoods of the city. The proposal is to integrate hospitalization into the urban environment in a sustainable way, promoting environmental benefits such as the improvement of air quality, the reduction of heat islands and the evaluation of collective spaces. The entire process will be monitored by the municipal secretariat of the environment, urbanism and sustainability (SMAMUS).
According to the Urban Removement Coordinator of Smamus Veronica Riffel, the capital has already collected the fruits of similar initiatives: “The current contract, which ends in May, has led over 3,700 seedlings to plant”. The continuity of the project strengthens the commitment of the city to the environment and the quality of life of the population, showing that even investing in green is investing in the urban future.
