Tragedy panic in Monreale
A shooting occurred on Saturday evening (26) on Sunday (27) in the city of Monreale, province of Palermo, southern Italy, left at least three deaths and two wounded.
The tragedy took place in the central square, which at the time was crowded. The first information on the case underline that a feud for trivial reasons between two groups of young people would lead to violence, which began in front of a pizzeria. Among the clash, already in the square, one of the attackers removed a revolver and a shot.
“It was a violent struggle with the tables, sticks and bottles that were launched. Panic took place. Shortly after, shots were listened to and they lost control. People flew, others fell and were trampled, some hidden among the cars, others cried. It was horrible,” said a young woman who witnessed the filming.
So far the deaths of Andrea Miceli are confirmed, 26; Salvatore Turdo, 23 years old, and Massimo Pirozzo, 26. The injured, Nicolò Cangemi, 33 and one under 16, are hospitalized.
