Formula 1 renews the Miami GP contract until 2041

Formula 1 delivered to Miami the longest contract on Friday calendar, guaranteeing the Grande Prize by 2041 with a duration of 10 years and an existing agreement of a decade.

The first of the three races in the United States – the others are the Austin and Las Vegas circuit – is taking place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens this weekend.

The race was held for the first time in 2022.

The CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, said that the renewal is “a strategic framework of enormous importance”.

“At this moment of an incredible period of Formula 1 growth, we want to make sure we are tuned and working together with the best partner we have,” the Italian said at a press conference.

“Miami will be part of our wider strategy to be even stronger in the United States of America. This is a place where it is essential to be”.

“We want to think and stronger. The only way to think about the great is to work together with partners who are the best and will help us know an environment that we are still discovering,” he added.

Formula 1, owned by Liberty Media, has grown in popularity, especially in the Americas, where it has a great growth potential, largely thanks to the documentary series “F1: Weing to Live” by Netflix.

A Hollywood movie, “F1”, with Brad Pitt, should be released next month.

Domenicali has also affirmed that there is a lot of interest in the United States’s rights’ rights package, currently detained by Espn, with ongoing discussions. Did not provide details on the interested parties.
