A clipping on the number of cars and electric advertisements and light hybrids sold from January to April this year shows a somewhat surprising scenario compared to the first quarter of 2024. While battery electric vehicles dropped by 15% – 20,820 to 17,691 units – the three types of added hybrids (base, full and plummeter) – 30,449 for 52.76 units.

When you add hybrid and electric, the result is positive for 37%. This distortion occurs because a basic hybrid (or semi-hybrid in a rigorous classification) is much cheaper than the full and tired and much more convenient than an electric. Therefore, the term “electrified” ends up generating statistical distortions, without reflecting what really happens on the market.

According to the official data issued by Abeifa (Association of Importers) and also Tabulars from Bright, the most beautiful sales models by category last month were, in unit: electric, byd Delfino Mini, 2,177, 10%less; Hybrid Hybrid, Byd Song Plus, 3,140, ​​plus 13%; Basic hybrid, Fiat Fastback, 2,447 and Full Hybrid, Toyota Corolla Cross, 951.
