The governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite, said he was prepared for the presidential candidacy, but reported that the controversy for the position should not be made possible by the PSDB. Leite, who has the invitation to migrate to the PSD, said that his current part “is no longer existing”.
“The PSDB to which I became part of 24 years ago is giving in to exist. It was decided to merge with the Somos and, probably, this merger will give rise to a new name, a new number, a new brand, a new party program. The PSDB, in the format that has been historically introduced to the Brazilian population, is leaving the scenario.
According to Leite, the intention is to guide a “third pole”, as an option for President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) and the former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). In an interview with the portal InfomoneyPublished on Thursday 8, the governor said that other competitors spend a lot of energy and time by attacking each other rather than focusing efforts on the resolution of problems such as public safety.
“When I sit down to talk about my political destiny, I am also discussing the construction of a presidential candidacy. I have personal aspiration, I am willing and I feel ready to lead a question,” Leite said.
The Governor had promised to the National President PSDB Marconi Perillo to wait for the party to call the party before making any decision on his candidacy. Last week, the Toucans formalized the merger with Somos and, in an attempt to keep it in the subtitle, offered milk the opportunity to apply for the presidency.
Leite, who participated in the presidential previews of the PSDB in 2021, aims to apply for Planalto Palace in 2026. The national president of the PSD Gilberto Kassab said that there is the possibility that the governor was a presidential candidate next year if he chooses to migrate to the party. He added that the acronym can have two pre-anti, citing the governor of Paraná, Ratinho Júnior.
