Among the financial crisis, the post office published on Monday 12, a strategic work plan that includes the incentive to reduce working hours and, consequently, to reduce the salary of workers. About 86 thousand professionals will be affected directly by the measures.

Among the main measures announced by the post office, in addition to reducing working hours, there is at least 20% of the commissioned positions; the temporary suspension of the holidays, which will be enjoyed again from January 2026; the call for the return to the face of the face to face from 23 June; and the launch of new formats of health plans.

The goal is to evade the loss of $ 2.6 billion obtained in 2024 and improve the cash flow of the post office. If the plan can reach all the articles presented, the company provides to save $ 1.5 billion in 2025.

This has been the first time since 2016 that the post office has a billionaire loss in their operations. At the time, the company had a loss of $ 1.5 billion (R $ 2.3 billion of updated values).

As a justification for the negative result, the post office states that only 15% of the 10,638 service units have a surplus, when revenues are higher than the expenses. On the other hand, the company has invested $ 830 million in 2024, for a total of $ 1.6 billion since the new direction took over.

In the last two, the post office has spent $ 698 million for the acquisition of new vehicles and another 600 million dollars spent on the maintenance of the company’s operating infrastructures. Part of the acquired vehicles is part of a strategic plan that establishes a period of 5 years for the ecological transition of its activities.
