endless night David Perot and with Emmanuel Voisin Ayumi Ru (Scam France), Theo Auje (myth), Hanane El Yousfi (I promise), China (tandem), Salif Sisse (boarding), Leo Legrand (radiant sky) and Louis Raoult Watanabe (Mozart in the Jungle).

A new Franco-Belgian mini-series available on Netflix, Endless Night should appeal to fans of fantasy and dream works. This fantasy thriller in the tradition of Donnie Darko and The Claws of the Night, created by David Perrault (Our Heroes Are Dead Tonight, Wild State) and Emmanuel Voisin, follows a group of teenagers who are tainted and chased by their dreams.

During the series, we follow Eva, a lonely 17-year-old girl who moves to a new city with her mother a few months after her father’s death. One evening he meets a group of friends who are having some strange activity.

Sebastien and his friends consume Ecelotropin, a drug stolen from a sleep disorder clinic. Taken without sleeping pills, this drug alters dreams and promises a strange but exhilarating acid trip for the person who takes it.

Eva then joins this group and also wants to try drugs, hoping to see her missing father in her dreams. But the dream world turns into a nightmare when the line between dream and reality blurs, the gang is chased by a mysterious creature, and one of them is trapped in the dream world.

With a 6×30 minute format, the series doesn’t falter and gets straight to the point from its opening sequence. Even if we are quite on the surface, at the level of the characters, the plot, well laid out and indicated, follows with enthusiasm. Aesthetically, Endless Night draws inspiration from the worlds of David Lynch or Bertrand Mandico, combining psychedelic effects with bright and glowing colors that have little effect.

If you like short stories, teenage mystery series and fantasy thrillers, then Endless Night is for you!
