On Monday, the minister of tourism Celso Sabino said that the National Civil Aviation Fund (Fnac), which provides for billions of reais in funding for the sector, should be available in the first half.
“The government is regulating (the Fnac) and now this semester comes out,” he told Reuters and, parallel to visit the Brazil summit, in Rio de Janeiro, adding that they are “billions of reais available”.
President Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva sanctioned the law of general tourism last year, which allows the financing of the air sector with a contribution of $ 6 billion through FNAC.
Sabino also said that Azul’s situation does not worry the sector and that the government does not evaluate specific help to the airline.
A “specific help is not thought … the government always thinks about the sector,” he said.
