Marcello Novaes told details on his villain in the soap opera dona de Mim and also spoke of the end of the contract with Globo.
Marcello Novaes returned to Globo interpreting Jaques Boaz, a bad guy of the soap opera dona de Mim. In an interview with Portal F5, the actor stressed that he always had a preference for antagonist roles. “I have always found the most interesting bad guys. I have done some, and that’s that thing not to know where it goes to the plot, it always instigates you,” he said.
In history, Jaques is a frustrated man for abandoning the dream of living in music after family pressure. Back in Brazil, he tries to implement ideas in the family factory, but faces the resistance by the older brother, Abel. “Back to Brazil full of ideas, but the older brother does not listen,” he explained. Marcello Novaes adds that the character feels excluded and seeks power and money at all costs.
At 62, this is the first soap work of the actor under contract, after 36 years of fixed bond with the station. “In fact, I didn’t stop, right? My contract ended in December and, in the second week of January, I was already studying for a Globoplay series,” he said.
