The new Disneyland attraction “Haunted Mansion” has gotten two strong reinforcements: Jared Leto (“Morbius”) and Jamie Lee Curtis (“Halloween”). The actress confirmed the news with an Instagram post that combines her photo with Leto’s and even includes an image of Madame Leota, her character in the production.

Madame Leota is a medium whose head is inside a crystal ball. Leto will play Hatbox Ghost, a ghost with a top hat, who appears in animatronic form during the ride on the Disney attraction.

The two join the already huge cast, which includes Rosario Dawson (“Luke Cage”), LaKeith Stanfield (Oscar nominee for “Judas and the Black Messiah”), Owen Wilson (“Loki”), Tiffany Haddish (“Partners in Guerra “) and Danny DeVito (” It’s always sunny in Philadelphia “).

The plot follows a doctor (Dawson) who moves with his young son to a mansion in New Orleans and soon discovers that the place is haunted by ghosts. Desperate, she seeks help from a priest (Wilson), a scientist (Stanfield), a medium (Haddish) and a historian (DeVito).

It is worth mentioning that “Haunted Mansion” has already been made into a comedy with Eddie Murphy, which was a box office failure in 2003. But the studio is fearless and will be shooting a script by Kate Dipold, responsible for “Ghostbusters” – also known as “the female version” of “Ghostbusters” – which was another attraction of the terrir genre for children to do damage.

Justin Simien (“Dear White People”) directs this new version and the premiere is scheduled for March 10, 2023.

Leto’s next project is the thriller “Adrift”, directed by Darren Aronofsky (“Mother”), currently in pre-production, while Curtis will soon be seen in the horror “Halloween Ends”, due out in October. He also recently filmed the adaptation of the game “Borderlands”, which doesn’t have a preview date yet.
