2 hostage bodies were recovered in Gaza, says Netanyahu

One of the people identified by Israel was Yair Yaakov

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that the two hostages’ bodies were recovered from the country’s troops in the Gaza Strip.

According to the head of the government, mentioned by Times of Israel, in addition to Yair Yaakov, the Israeli forces found the remains of a second hostage, but their name has not yet been released.

“Together with all Israeli citizens, my wife and I express our deepest condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones,” said Netanyahu in a statement issued by his office.

Yaakov, 59 years old, and the second hostage were kidnapped in Nir Oz during the Hamas attack perpetrated on October 7, 2023.
