The plane, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, according to the Flighttradar24 flight monitoring website, was intended for Gatwick airport in London and fell around 12:39, 4:09 Brasilia.
The Indian airline and the British Airport Gatwick confirmed the fall. So far, no information on the identity of the victims has been disclosed. According to the police, the plane crashed into a populous area.

The company also confirms that the flight Ai171 from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick crashed after take off. The flight, which started from Ahmedabad at 13:38, transported 242 passengers and crew aboard the Boeing 787-8 plane. Of these, 169 are Indian citizens, 53 are British, Canadian citizens and seven Portuguese citizens.

The plane crashed a few minutes after take -off, “outside the airport perimeter”, after making an emergency request, said the general manager of the civil aviation of India.
The Indian aviation minister said he was “shocked and devastated” with the accident: “Emergency services are mobilized and all the efforts made to ensure that the medical teams are sent quickly to the scene,” said Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarap in a note.
