Le Mans: meet the 5 women who contest the 2025 edition


They compete in the LMGT3 and LMP2 classes, which represent important projects and signs of weight on the resistance




The 24 -hour grid of Le Mans 2025 is full of talents and renowned names of world sport. Among the 186 cyclists who compete for one of the most important events of the Endurance season, five are women.

Since 1923, 65 pilots have faced the curves of Sarthe, with Marguerite Mareuse and Odette Siko as pioneers, debuting in the 1931 edition.

Compared to 2024, the number of women has increased, but it is far from ever recorded: in 1935, ten competitors aligned on the grid of the traditional French race.

In 2025, the five women are distributed among the LMGT3 and LMP2 lessons: Jamie Chadwick, Rahel Frey, Sarah Bovy, Celia Martin and Lilou Wadoux.

Jamie Chadwick, the W champion, Jamie Chadwick, won the Mrf Challenge Formula 2000 in 2019, won two podiums (including one victory) in Indy NXT in 2024, was British champion GT4 in 2015 and won in his Nürburgring class in 2019.

At the age of 26, the British were announced as part of the Genesis Hypercars project – The Luxury brand of Hyundai, which plans to enter WEC in 2026. As part of the preparation, Jamie has competed in the European series Le Mans with the Lmp2 IDC Sport champion in 2019.

In Le Mans, he shares the steering wheel of the LMP2 #18 Oreca 07-Gibson with Mathys Joubert and the three-time champion André Lotter.

Ferrari Pilot, Lilou Wadoux became, in 2023, the first woman to win a WEC stage at 18:00 Spa-FrancoCorcamps.

Absent from Le Mans in 2024, the Frenchman spent the season in Japan, playing at the Super GT, and also won the 6 -hour IMSA Watkins Glen in the LMP2 class.

This year, Wadoux is present on LMGT3, leading the Ferrari 296 #150 of Richard Mille AF Corse team.

The only team with three women in the same car follows stopped in WEC and 24 hours of Le Mans. Since 2019, Iron Dames has been present in the main calendar race, as part of a project that promotes and authorizes women in motorsport and equestrian.

With the support of Manthey Racing, the current LMGT3 champion, Porsche #85 aligned this year with Celia Martin, Rahel Frey and Sarah Bovy. The alignment has undergone one last change: the owner of Auto Michelle Gatting underwent a foot injury and was replaced by Bovy last Sunday (8).

Iron Dames has already won 8 hours from Bahrain in 2023 and the 2025 edition marks the seventh participation of the team in Le Mans.
