Bang: Idris Elba will star in a new comic book adaptation

Netflix will adapt more comics from the independent publisher Dark Horse Comics following the success of “The Umbrella Academy”.

The film is an adaptation of the miniseries “Bang!”, Designed by Wilfredo Torres in 2020, which will reunite director David Leitch and actor Idris Elba, after working together on the blockbuster “Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw” (2019) . ). Elba, of course, is already known to comic book fans for his appearances as Heimdall in the “Thor” films.

The plot revolves around a cult that plans the apocalypse through the release of several novels capable of brainwashing readers. The greatest spy in the world (Elba) has the mission to prevent it, setting out in search of the author of her to execute him.

The series, meanwhile, is “Mind MGMT”, about a young “true crime” writer who seeks the truth behind a mysterious airline flight and unintentionally discovers a secret government program aimed at brain control, by means of espionage. and even talking dolphins.

“Mind MGMT” was published for 36 issues between 2012 and 2015, which were collected in six hardcover volumes. Adaptation does not have a known team yet.

In addition to “The Umbrella Academy”, Netflix has released the film “Polar” and the animations “The Chronicles of Usagi: The Samurai Rabbit” and “Chicken and the Dark Hamster” in collaboration with Dark Horse.
