In 1999, after the game took us through the ship, David Fincher returned to the case that he intended to celebrate his time: Fight Club. We follow the narrator, who was located by Edward Norton.
The latter, without accurate identity, lives alone, works alone, sleeps alone, eats food alone for a person like many other people who know human, moral and sexual trouble.
That is why he will become a member of the Fight Club, a secret place where he will be able to return to his virginity, exchange and communication. This club is led by Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), a kind of anarchist between Guru and the philosopher who preaches his neighbor’s love.
The result of speech
If the feature film made the mind in its dark and nihilistic tone, first of all, it is its end, which was turned over by the whole generation of viewers and shocked. After more and more violent events by the chaos project, the narrator discovers that he is actually the same man as Tyler Durden, his alter ego, as a result of his mental disorders and its alienation, in the light of modern society.
This revelation is like a blow to the viewer, which turns out to be even more amazed and shocking in what it follows. Although Tyler is trying to explode in several buildings housing data center to “move the meters to zero” (debt deletion), the narrator realizes that he must get rid of this double to complete this devastating spiral.
On the emblem scene, he throws his mouth, symbolizes the rejection of Tyler and therefore the death of this part of himself. Tyler disappears, which lives the narrator, though he was seriously injured.
The end of Tyler Durden
By hand stretched
The last scene shows a hero who held Marla Singer by hand (Helena Bonham Carter), who blows the buildings at a distance, while the song “Where is my mind”. With a prominent helpless and obvious squad, the duo somehow watches the demolition of the “world” in front of them.
With a radical gesture of liberation against capitalism, consumer society and modern alienation, the narrator ends the activity of its destruction. After the elimination of its alter ego, it is born in the ashes of the new world that is cleared of all its alienation. This nihilistic action is the materialization of the fantasy of shaving everything to start from scratch, the main theme of the film.

New hope
However, if this result looks absolutely terrible and cruel, he still hopes. Indeed, the narrator ends to kill this charm for ultraviolet violence as an answer to existential emptiness. With the “murder” of Tyler, he regained control of himself and no longer deny his insecurity, even if it was just the beginning of a long healing road.
In addition, in the last seconds of the film, the narrator holds Marla’s hand, a rare and intimate gesture in this story, where violence is dominated. This emphasizes the hero’s previous step towards insecurity and attachments. It is a direct resistance to Tyler’s discourse that supported loneliness, indifference, and denial of love.
For this purpose, so it offers a good opening for a beautiful human connection. Lastly, as David Fincher is perfectionist and very smart, the final song of Pixies, “Where is my mind”, was not chosen by accident. This tube perfectly reflects the narrator’s condition, loss of sights, dissociation, but also raising consciousness, even in the midst of this chaos.
