Shyamalan’s new movie mixes romance and supernatural, with script in partnership with Nicholas Sparks; Premiere is scheduled for October 2026
The directorM. Night Shyamalan He started this week on the coast of Rhode Island (USA), filming his new project: the supernatural romantic thriller Remain. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal (THEVulture2014) and Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton2020), the film promises to explore topics such as mourning, love and reality in a suspense plot with fantasy touches.
According to World of Reel, Jake Gyllenhaal interpret Tate Donovana New York architect who decides to move away from the city and project a summer house in Cape Cod while facing the mourning for his sister’s death. There, he knows Wren (Phoebe Dynevor), a mysterious figure that will shake his rational view of life. Ashley Walters (Adolescence2025) completes the main trio of the cast.

The script was written by Shyamalan in partnership with the author Nicholas Sparks(Diary of a Passion1996), which also prepares a novel based on the story – with launch scheduled for October 2025. The film’s photograph is signed by Adolpho Veloso (The perfect David,, 2021), and the production is in charge of Blinding Edge Pictures, in collaboration with the Warner Bros.which also signs the distribution.
The recordings of Remain They continue until August in cities such as Providence, Warren and Bristol. Some curious locations include Cranston Street Armory, rented exclusively for the film, as well as historical scenarios in the region, which have served other Hollywood productions. The initiative also has support from Rhode Island Film & TV Office.
