The United States will interrupt financial support to the global alliance of Gavi vaccines, says the Secretary of Health

The United States Secretary of Health Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said on Wednesday that the government will no longer contribute to Gavi, a public-private partnership that helps to buy vaccines for the poorest children in the world.

Kennedy has accused Gavi of neglecting the safety of vaccines, forming questionable recommendations on Covid-19 vaccines and has raised concerns about the DTPW (Difteria-Tetane-Coquucce vaccine of entire cells).

He said it in a recorded video delivered to the Gavi fundraising top in Brussels and seen by Reuters. The news was released for the first time by the politician.

In response, Gavi said he had full confidence in the DTPW vaccine and plans to continue his partnership with the United States government.

Gavi’s leaders are in Brussels for the top of the organization’s promises, in which the alliance intends to collect $ 9 billion for his work from 2026-30.

The Trump government had already indicated that he had planned to cut Gavi’s financing, which represents about $ 300 million a year.
