This would be the first time Michael Keaton has reprized the role of Batman / Bruce Wayne since his appearances in the 1989 and 1992 Tim Burton films “Batman” and “Batman Returns” respectively. Although information indicates that Keaton was replaced by Ben Affleck in “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom”, plans so far are for him to appear in “The Flash”.

On Tuesday, August 2, it was announced that the movie “Batgirl” would be shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery, despite being fully shot and in post-production, at a cost of approximately $ 90 million. The company said the strategic changes as a reason to cancel the film’s release. Meanwhile, CEO David Zaslav said part of the reason for the cancellation was “to protect the DC brand.”

“We won’t release a film until it’s ready,” said Zaslav. “We won’t release a movie for a room and we won’t release a movie unless we believe it … The goal is to grow the DC brand, grow the DC characters, but our job is also to protect the DC brand. And that’s what we will do. “

In addition to the directors, “Batgirl” star Leslie Grace has talked about the cancellation of her film.

“Batgirl” will not be distributed by Warner Bros., neither in theaters, nor directly in streaming, as was the initial plan.
