Stellantis brings the Chinese brand to the country by the end of the year and evaluates local production in collaboration with national factories
Summary
The Stellantis group launches the Leapmotor in Brazil still in 2025, with imported B10 and C10 models, and already has studies for local production in Betim (MG) or Goiana (PE)
Stellantis was officially officially the arrival of the Chinese Leapmotor brand at the Brazilian market for the second half of 2025. The operation begins with two electric SUVs: the Medium C10 and B10, both still not published here.
The confirmation came by the vice -president of the regulatory affairs of Stellantis, João Irineu Medeiros, during a lesson on the direction of the Stellantis brands in an event on the electromotic.
The movement is part of the global strategy of the automotive giant, which purchased 20% of Leapmotor by 2023 and now accelerates its expansion outside China, where the brand is already among the leaders of electrical access vehicles.
Leapmotor C10 will be the flagship of the operation. With dimensions close to a compass for Jeep, the SUV has electric versions and also a Hybrid Erev option – with petrol extensor, something that can make the difference in a country with still incipient charging infrastructures.
With an engine of about 220 HP and a battery of almost 70 kWh, the model offers autonomy of over 400 km according to the CLTC standard.
Already the B10, a slightly smaller and urban average SUV, has not yet revealed technical data, but will compete with models such as Byd Yuan Pro and Plus and the future Chevrolet Spark Euv.
Leapmotor wants to be national
Despite the debut with cars imported from China, Stellantide is already studying the national production of Leapmotor in factories that already operate in the country, such as Betim (MG), Porto Real (RJ) or Goiana (PE).
The plant in the North -Ast, which currently produces jeep models, RAM and Fiat, is the most listed to be close to the port of Suepe and have tax incentives – and has already been adapted for light electrification.
The launch will be accompanied by an initial chain of 34 stores, with a structure focused on sales, after sales and maintenance. Leapmotor will also be supported by Stellantis Engineering and Logistics, including technical training and integration with local suppliers.
In addition to the expansion of the Stellantis electric wallet, the new brand helps to increase the transition to the emission of zero vehicles in a market that still “strips” in electrification, but growing in two figures year after year.
