The Inss tail almost doubles and reaches 2.4 million orders still unanswered


Of the total accumulated in June, 1,171 are requests for benefits for disability




The waiting line for the benefits of National Institute of Social Security (INSS) shot in 2025 and already sum 2.44 million requests for benefits still unanswered.

The data come from the social security transparency bulletin, released last week in a meeting of the National Social Security Council with updated information until June this year.

The sum, which does not yet consider the month closed, represents an increase compared to the same month of 2024, when there has been an accumulation of 1.354 million orders.

Of total June accumulated, 1,171 million are requests for disability services.

There are also requests relating to pensions, benefits for care and special legislation, maternity aid and pensions and imprisonment allowances.

The first six months of this year were recorded above the same period of the previous year. The largest level of the line was deposited in March of this year, when 2,707 million requests were submitted.

Average waiting time

The director also showed as the average time to complete requests was considering any type of benefit in May.

  • 68 days – for the pension for the time of contribution
  • 57 days – for retirement by age
  • 60 days – for the death pension
  • 37 days – for maternity salary
  • 36 days – for the benefit of care for the elderly
  • 110 days – for assistance for people with disabilities

Medical competence

As for the line of medical experts, the data show that in May 2025 there were 956.9 thousand requirements; In April, 921.4 thousand and, in January of this year, 709,400 requests.

Of the total requirements, the majority (594.6 thousand) referred to the initial skills, when the insured still does not benefit any benefit. Other requirements of 282,700 were continuous benefits (BPC/Loa).

The average waiting time between programming and medical competence in Brazil was 56.37 days (May data).

The state with the lowest average time for the service was Roraima, with 14.98 days. In Santa Catarina, the average time was 24.44 days. The state with the longest waiting time was Amazonas, with 176.13 days.
