During an interview, James Gunn, director and co-CEO of the studios, explained the reasons that makes him opt for the most developed universe
In an interview with The Timesthe director of Co-CEO of DC Studios, James Gunn He revealed that some of the most iconic comics have been adapted so many times to the cinema that they no longer need to be revisited. According to him, the audience already knows these beginnings and the movies do not have to waste time retaining them.
“I don’t need to see the pearl cord in the alley when Batman’s parents are murdered. I don’t need to see a radioactive spider spider-man. I don’t need to see a Kal baby being sent from Krypton in a ship.”said Gunn.
The three stories mentioned are some of the most popular in pop culture and have been explored in several productions. The origin of the Batman, for example, was portrayed in at least three distinct film versions.
