Netflix is in talks with Dave Bautista (“Guardians of the Galaxy”) to star in “Unleashed,” a comedy about a police officer and his canine companion.
The actor will play the cop, who is a canine partner’s best friend who can smell any crime. But when the animal dies on the job, the officer decides never to cooperate with another dog again. But then the division joins him with Zeus.
The screenplay is by brothers Jim and Brian Kehoe (“I’m not going to do that”) and directed by Jeff Tomsic (“I’ve Got You!”).
Bautista will soon be seen on Netflix itself, in the massive cast of the “Knives and Secrets” sequel, and is filming “Dune: Part 2” for Warner Bros.
