“I was waiting for the scripts to come, and they never came.”
According to Peter Jackson, those responsible for ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ decided not to consult him.
If a few weeks ago we had the creators of ‘The House of the Dragon’ talking about the ‘Lord of the Rings’ series, now it is the turn of the winner of an Oscar for Best Director for ‘The Return of the King’, the closing of his film trilogy of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ (here you have, by the way, the keys to ‘The Lord of the Rings’, the film legend). ANDhe New Zealander was at one point linked as an advisor to the adaptation of the television series Amazon Prime Video, which will be released in Spain on September 2.
However, he has now told ‘The Hollywood Reporter’ that those responsible for the series never put any script in front of him.
“They asked me if I wanted to participate – [el guionista y productor Fran Walsh] and I said, ‘That’s an impossible question to answer without seeing a script.’ So they told me: ‘As soon as we have the first scripts, we will send them to you’.
“Y the scripts never appeared. That’s the last I heard, it’s OK. I’m not complaining at all,” she shared.
Jackson went on to recall: “About four or five years ago, they asked me if I’d be interested in it. So I said, ‘Do you have the scripts yet?’ Because I know how hard it was to write movie scripts, and I didn’t know the people who wrote them.”
“They said, ‘Oh no, we don’t have the scripts yet, but as soon as we do, we’ll send them to you.’ So I kept waiting for the scripts to come, and they never did.”
Despite the fact that he has apparently complained about being a ghost for the ‘Rings of Power’ team, the filmmaker shows his kind character: “I will see her,” Jackson said of the series. “I’m not the kind of person who wishes evil. Making movies is quite difficult. If someone makes a good movie or TV series, it’s something to celebrate.”
“The only one that I am wishing it is see him Really as a perfectly neutral spectator“When that time comes, what will Jackson think of ‘The Rings of Power’ and the Galadriel ‘controversy’?
In response to their comments, Amazon Studios wrote this statement: “In pursuing the rights to our show, we were required to keep the series distinct and separate from the movies. We have the utmost respect for Peter Jackson and the ‘Lord of the Rings’ movies and are delighted that he is looking forward to seeing ‘The Rings of Power’.”
